is it just me

this whole taking a picture a day thing really makes you realize how fast time is traveling. i mean, for starters we're 140 days into 2009. i mean, when did that happen? but when i was looking at today's picture it seems like i'm getting a glimpse of my kids in the future. you know how when you look at baby pictures of your little ones, and you see their present selves in their baby faces? (did that even make sense?) well, the top picture really seems more like i'm looking at their future selves. maybe i'm just losing my mind? i mean, i took the top picture about 5 minutes before the one just below this one...

and in this one, they look more their current ages. is it just me? (because there is a strong possibility i've gone off the deep end. ask anyone i know! lol) so tell me what you think...

kinda looks like a mirror. so much the same, and yet so so SO different! they were playing school after school. not just regular school, i was informed this was boarding school. so what does that mean? emma gets to bring her american girl doll and blanket into torrey's room while torrey teaches her stuff. (we watch a lot of old movies, so the boarding school idea is pretty intriguing.)

and it's back to the orthodontist for this one tomorrow. x-rays, molds and all of that good stuff. hopefully that expander thing doesn't hurt when they put it in. she's kind of nervous.

I had an expander, putting in isn't bad, the expanding part daily can be a little sore. I'm sure they have improved them since I had one oh about 17 years ago...sigh where does time go. Good luck to Torrey!!

I think it's a mom thing. You know, 'cause they look the same age to me in each picture... but I know what you mean. I'll look at my son and he looks like my baby one minute, then a kid the next.

I totally know what you mean, Noel. I look at my little ones and see the same things, which others might not notice. Those are great pictures of your little ones. Very pretty girls.

Oh I know what you mean, especially since we have an older daughter, then 10 and 8 year old girls. I had to be a church before the rest of the fam on Sunday, in walks my younger girlies, my 10 year old just left me with a wow - she had fixed her hair and had some of her pink lip gloss on and she was gorgeous! All the girls love love love AG dolls, we are your fans that participate in putting on the AG Fashion Show fund raiser for Children's - It's great playing with your dolls but when you get to BE one of the dolls, we are talking peel girls off the ceiling time!!! My girls play like that too with the dolls. About the expander, big daught. had one at about age 8, it did the trick no more ortho was needed.

Lovely girls. I think you are right about the "view-into-the-future-thing" ... I sometimes get that feeling too when I look at my son who is only 3 ;o)

I know what you mean about the future thing too. I have three kids, each 9-10 yrs apart in age. I been thru it alot!! My oldest had an expander about 8 yrs ago. Putting it on wasn't as bad as turning it every night. This is soon to be me with daughter #2. It isn't so bad, as long as that bone in the roof of their mouth hasn't fused and hardened. My daughter LOVES her AG dolls too!! Love having the store at the Mall of America now!!

I totally get what you mean about your girls in the two pics! I can see it too in the first pic...wow. I see that sometimes with my son's pics. Kind of neat, but sometimes it makes my heart skip a beat and takes my breath away.

I notice the closed lip smile. My daughter is 24 and just got her braces off for the 2nd time. She never smiled with her mouth open.

I just completed a page for Color Combo's Galore created a page called Rare occasion. She smiled and showed her teeth with the braces on.
