Beauty of the Soul

I was feeling pretty good about the pace I was maintaining through most of January, keeping up on my photos and postings. But like a New Year's Resolution, life sometimes gets in the way of our best intentions. I'm still taking my pictures, but with lots of extra time devoted to my dad these days the posting is a little behind. (I write as the clock strikes 1:38am.) The beauty of taking extra time with the beautiful souls that God has placed in your life is that you truly get to see and experience the beauty of each soul that God has placed in your life. We often overlook the very unique and   precious things that each person around us possesses. It is sometimes the duty of providence to remind us of this blessing. With the fast approach of St. Valentine's Day, there has been a lot of talk around our house about truly loving those around us... not that we always measure up, but we press on.

Speaking of Valentine's Day, with Stan overseas I got a special Valentine's treat a couple of days early... he made me this little video complete with a score he wrote himself and a little poem (or p.o.m.e. as they're known around our house). It gives me pause to say again just how blessed I am to call this amazing man my husband. Words cannot begin to cover all there is to say about the immense blessing you are to me. I love you, Stan.

In other news, keep an eye out for a couple new Glitz projects that will be up on Monday, and a new Punky Sprouts album that should be up here on the blog later this week.

Chesterton Quote of the Day
"The man who lives in a small community lives in a much larger world. He knows much more of the fierce varieties and uncompromising divergences of men. The reason is obvious. In a large community we can choose our companions. In a small community our companions are chosen for us."
-G.K. Chesterton, Brave New Family

Thanks for sharing the Valentine video your husband made for you. It is beautiful. A lot of thought and love went into producing it.

Hope your father is adjusting okay to his low sodium diet. Wanted to mention that I have noticed a lot of times the organic canned items have less sodium then the "low sodium" canned version. Just have to spend time studying labels.
