new goodies & a giveaway!

new goodies & a giveaway

had the heart monitor on again yesterday-today. no episodes, so i'm pretty sure it didn't catch anything. but we'll turn it in and see. all of my other test came back fine... so guess we'll see where it goes from here. when i opened this pic full size in photoshop, stan and i got a laugh out of how much my neck looks like a piece of raw chicken with the skin on. something to ponder on cold winter'ish night. :)

this was my runner up for pic of the day. i'm thinking now maybe, this is the one i should have chosen. the girls were playing little red riding hood. and i caught this one of emma knocking on "granny's" door. :)

ok, now for the fun schtuff! i got a box of goodies from the fabulous glitz girls with all of their new goodies from cha! whoo hoo. i worked on making a couple of quick projects with some of the new stuff this afternoon. this layout is from the rebel line. totally loving this edgy, man-style line of goodies. i figured the tire tread paper was perfect for scrapping one of the pictures of stan's smashed car. the layout felt overly red in the end, but hey... i'm stickin' with what i've got now.

the edges of the layout are stamped with glitz's new acrylic distressing stamps. i used the distressed grid (layout edges) & grunge (ace card and journaling strips) stamps on this layout. the distressed polka dots (my new fave) are on brown cardstock the owl card, although i'm not sure you can see it in the pictures. i'll have to do another project with those. they're so cool!

the rhinestone wings are by prima, thickers by american crafts and the transparency is by hambly.

this one is all goodies from the sparrow line. there are a ton of very cute/cool papers in this line too. lots more projects i have formulating in my mind with these. totally loving the spring colors! (especially since it's not feeling much like spring outside!)

i think this owl rubon is so stinkin' cute. there are bunches of these cute birdies in the rubon pack.
more sparrow line fun. these new patterned cardstock border stickers are too fun. they've got them to match each new line, too. how cool is that?

ok, now for the giveaway!
i've got a big box of glitzy goodness for one lucky winner. all you have to do is tell me your very favorite spring time activity (can you tell i'm needing a little spring here), and i'll choose a winner on wednesday, march 18. good luck!!!

Good Morning.. Here in Mansfield Ohio we have a place called Kingwood Center. It is a old mansion with tons of land that is turned into a place for flowers, a duck pond etc. They give tours of the house and the grounds are just beautiful. I love taking my son there to see the first of the spring flowers and to feed the ducks...

Hello Noel. I just want you to know I have been reading your blog for a long time now and I really love it.
In spring I just love that we can spend our family time outdoors more. We are a huge BBQing family. So I love when the kids and I are just playing outside while daddy does the bbqing. I love the family moments like these the best. The kids are growing so fast so I love to savor each and every one of these moments.
Have a great day.

What a great giveaway! There are so many things I love about spring! I love walking barefoot in our front yard in the evening, sitting on the back porch while my hubby grills out, having the windows open to the house to smell the fresh air, going to the kids baseball games and out for icecream afterwards (whether they win or lose there is always ice cream). And I love love love Daylight Savings time so the evenings are still light enough to be outside. :)

15 reason I love Spring...
tulip festival, no more coats or static electricity, easter, outdoor activites, catching butterflies, rainy afternoons, the sound of birds chirping, BBQs, the scent of budding flowers or freshly cut grass, a reason to paint my toe nails, bright colors in fashion, can crack the windows and air out the house, spring cleaning, soccer, and great photo ops.

I, too, am ready for spring! It's been a long winter; just last week I woke up and my thermometer read 8degrees. I wanted to cry.

my all-time favorite thing to do in the spring, is sit outside with the kids and the dogs in the sunshine. after being inside most chilly winter days, spring and all its glories pulls us outside to just be. as soon as a warmish day appears we all tumble outside and do something-anything. chit chatting with the kids while they play and giggle with the sunshine on my face. Hi Noel,

Thankyou for such a great blog, I have been reading since Christmas and just love seeing what is happening everday now. Your girls are just perfect and so cute.
What I like most about spring is that the days are longer and opening up the windows to let the light in and feel the fresh air. Oh and the first time I wear just a T shirt outdoors feels amazing. Sadly I live in Australia so our day are starting to get shorter and I am beginning to wear a sweater here and there. I am glad though that we do not often drop below 10 degrees Celcius.
I hope and pray that the heart thing works out well, it's a little scary I am sure.
Have a great day

Birds merrily chirping, GS's playing, giggling and the warmth on our face. It's a time for our souls to reawaken, to be nourished by the sun and the most important thing of all..........BBQing!!! And flowers.. Seeing the flowers outside my scraproom window come up :)

My favorite spring time activity is going outside to my pond and seeing all the fish at the surface "sunbathing." I do a count (they multiple every single year) and then just sit there and watch them. There is nothing more peaceful. And of course, before I head back in, I do a check and see how many flower bulbs have sprouted and pushed their way up through the thawing earth!

Our families favorite part of spring time is spring break. Yes, we live in Florida, and yes the weather here in the spring is perfect beach weather, but the reason it's our favorite part is because we always try to make it a family week! My husband takes this week off. If we don't "go away" for the entire week (usually to Marco Island) we do day trips. For floridans spring time is a special time because the weather has yet to get horribly hot. For that reason, we do outdoors stuff! And of course the three of us being together is what makes is extra special!

It's funny how kids change everything because a few years ago my anwer would have been just making it through commutes without snow or ice! LOL! Anyway topping the list is watching the little ones ride bike, blowing bubbles, drawing on a dry driveway with sidewalk chalk and flying kites. Last year we took the kites to the park and tied them on the ends of fishing poles and man oh man did they soar unbelievably high! Okay, I better stop, you did only ask for one thing right?!? LOL! Can you tell we are dreaming of and anticipating spring!! ;)
