flat stanley

flat stanley

emma's class is studying about all of the different states. So one of the projects they're doing is mailing out this little paper guy, flat stanley, to people all over the country. if you don't happen to have a kid between the ages of 6 and 10 you may not have heard of flat stanley. it's all based on a cute book, where the main character gets flattened... and ends up on all kinds of fun adventures. one of them being mailed in an envelope. :)

emma sent her flat stanley to my wonderful friend, joscie & her family in hawaii. well, let me just say that they sure know how to show a guy a good time! they went all over. from navy ships to pineapple plantations, from the north shore to the local hawaiian bakery. she made up a little mini album of all their adventures, which arrived back at our house today! not to mention she also sent along some super delicious hawaiian goodies (macadamia nut chocolates, kona coffee, activity books for the girls, and pencils for the class.) how cool is that?! i'm pretty sure it's going to be the best flat stanley visit of the class!! thank you, thank you joscie! emma was so excited to get it back, and read about all of your adventures.

joscie even sent these fun little hawaiian activity books for the girls. as soon as emma finished going through the flat stanley book, she was right onto the activity book. i think the girls worked on them for over an hour this evening.

originally my picture of the day was going to be of the only thing i could muster up the energy to get a picture of... my alarm clock and the time i got out of bed this afternoon. i ended up with emma's flu yesterday evening... and yuck-o. i think it may be mostly gone now. the body aches are still hanging around, but the running to the bathroom every few minutes has stopped!

I enjoyed reading about Flat Stanley and his adventures. I had never heard of this concept before until Flat Joscie was sent to you and had her adventures in WA.

My question is, did you make Flat Stanley, or did he come with a book you purchased? I have always been curious whether or not Flat Joscie was made by Joscie.

I enjoyed looking at the pictures of Flat Stanley's Hawaiian adventures, especially the one of the Sea Turtles.

I am sure your daughters class will enjoy the Hawaiian adventures of Flat Stanley!

Enjoy your awesome photos and your blog.

Glad you are feeling better. This morning my daughter did the..."my tummy hurts" I thought of you right away. Then sent her to school. I hadn't been home long and the phone rang. I was like..oh no..but it turned out to be work, I had a huge sigh of relief!!! Enjoyed Joscie's post on her blog about flat stanley. We are in Indiana if flat stanley needs a place to visit.

Wow! I remember a Flat Stanley visiting our house once from New York. My girls thought it was great even being on the sightseeing end of his travels! I think we should have a Flat Stanley for adults!!! Kids get all the fun!
Glad you're all feeling better too Noel!

Noel,
Please tell Joscie that her Flat Stanley "homework" earned an A++!! Very cute-the class loved it. The pencils were a hit too!
