last year's christmas cards

{last year's}
christmas cards

for the last two years i've had such a hard time deciding on just one family picture to send out with christmas cards. to appease my indecision i made little booklets with pictures from the entire year. i made them on my computer and had them printed at a local copy store.

the cover was printed double-sided on 65# cardstock, cut in half length wise. the inside pages were printed double-sided on text weight paper, and cut into quarter sheets. to keep things simple, i just stapled the edges of the booklets. the inside pages were all the same design, the page was simply flipped so the flourishes would be on opposite corners on facing pages.

This is an inspiring post. I have given up on trying to get all 3 of my little cuties in one shot. i now take them individually. All I have left is my daughter. Any tricks to getting a cute shot of a wiggly 4 year old girl?

Wow, Noel. What an awesome card. I bet all your friends and family look forward to what you will send each year. :-)

LOVE THE CARD and thanks for sharing,

hey sara, try doing a picture with one of those giant lolly pops. practically guarantees a smile, and it's still cute if they're all sticky! :)

Okay, now I will definitely NOT be posting my last year's card and letter on my blog, with my low-tech Word document full of photos attached, LOL! Like you, I can never pick just one photo. But, um, yeah, it would be embarrassingly pedestrian next to this. Love it, can't wait to see what you do this year :)

These are amazing! I have been searching the internet to figure out how to turn the background black so that I can do a similar photo - only in color. Is there a "semi" simple way to do this in Photoshop? I have version CS3 and I can't seem to figure out how to get the same effect as yours without purchasing a black backdrop. Is yours photoshopped or with the real black backdrop?

Thanks!! Teresa

I imagine that all the recipients were in tears by the end. I hope, one day, to be just as creative.

hi teresa. for the pictures on this card, i just used a black bed sheet i picked up at walmart. it was draped over the back of my couch for the pics. :)

i've never been terribly worried about getting a true black in my pics.

i was able to pick up a very nice true black background at denny manufacturing online this year. if you get on their email list, they regularly send out very good specials. i waited until it was 50% off and picked it up then. www.Dennymfg.com

hth!

So gorgeous! I love the idea of using multiple photos. I found your blog through googling scraprooms, and so I just watched your video scraproom tour, and I love it! I cannot wait to put together my own expedit shelf (I bought it in August, yikes!)
