merry christmas
from one sassy family

i laugh every time i see this "stan" ornament. :) having an obvious plethora of "noel" and "joy" ornaments, my mom decided we needed a "stan" ornament! so she made it from a scrap of paper on my counter the first year we were married. and it has been on our tree ever year since! (the noel ornament was given to me by my great grandma when i was a kid, and the joy ornament was from my grandma.)

i finally have all of my gifts wrapped. i finished the last couple tonight. (i ran out of wrapping paper, and had a couple gigantic presents to wrap!) the wrapping paper & brown ribbon are from stampin' up, the sheer ribbon is from target, and the tags are from k-mart.

and this baby right here is stan's pride and joy. we found it at a local farmer's market 5 or 6 years ago. it clamps to the center of the tree, and the tracks go around it. it sits about 3/4 of the way up the tree. and it is by far the coolest christmas decoration we've ever found! :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

I am so envious of your train!! We've had a train around the bottom of our tree for seven years, but for the last two years I just didn't feel like hasseling with the baby over it so I didn't put it up. I miss it so much! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for one like yours!

The Stan ornament is great!! God Bless Your hubby and you and the girls through the deployment. I am an Army wife myself and noticed your "saying good-bye post" a little while back. Though my husband is with us this year, I will be thinking of those who are not. May the peace the Savior brings take the sting out of the separation! Merry Christmas

You've been a busy lady with all that wrapping and decorating!! I love your hubby's ornament :) You'll have to get him in your scrap area one of these days so he can really make a snazy one. The train ornament is really cool. I don't think I've ever seen one like it!

Merry Christmas, my scrappy friend! I hope it's a good one :)

That train is the coolest thing ever! Love that stan ornament! So sweet of your mom to think of him. It's good to see that I'm not the only one who likes to color coordinate my wrapping paper! LOL My hubby thinks I'm crazy for doing it. Or maybe it's the fact that I have a different 'theme' every year that gets to him. ;) lol

Your tree is beautiful and the train is great! I really enjoy your blog. All your work is so beautiful.

I used to be a military wife and the deployments were the worst part of the military. It is wonderful that your DH can read your blog.

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Hi Noel...I have been a lurker on your blog for far too long now...so today is the day I officially say HI!!! {I saw your link on my blogging buddy, Joscies blog a little while ago}

Your tree looks so beautiful by the way...& I think the tradition of your Granny giving you an ornament, is so lovely. It sounds like you have a very close family.

My, my you have wrapped your presents so beautifully....we are vacationing in Toronto with family for the month of December {I live in Cape Town, South Africa} so I just have to make do wrapping ours with what I can find here. I never realised just how much I miss my hobby when I don't do it for a month :o)

Have a Blessed Christmas with your family & a Grace filled 2008.
Kim....x

stan's ornament is the best, hands down! way to go, jackie! :D merry christmas, my dear friend. have the same kind of thing going around the tree, except it's a lighthouse with mickey and donald and all that... the kids love it so much, it needs to be retired now (because it barely lights up and sings anymore, with all the playing and handling). oh well... isn't that what christmas is all about anyway? have fun, be happy, be joyful! ;P
