In Remembrance of Mom

This is my second Mother's Day since I lost my mom to brain cancer and there isn't a day that goes by that I am not thankful for each and every precious moment I had her. This picture speaks to her playful sass and fun-loving nature. The hand cut chevrons to move the focus toward the photo. The  heart punched from vellum reminds me of her heart, and the sentiment reminds me of her watching over me from heaven. This one's for you, Mom!

Hello Goldie

Halloween has always been a family affair with fairytale flair for us. Last year, we kept the tradition with Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Mixing up the softness of tulle and vellum with the geometric "Raven" elements keeps with the unexpected fun of our real life fairytale. I haven't taken the plunge into Project Life, so I use Glitz "Bits & Pieces" on layouts to add a little spice. They say variety is the spice of life, here's to a baby step toward spicy living.

Painted Fingers & Projects

Although I'm not one to keep my house exceptionally clean, much to my husband's dismay, I do generally keep my hands clean when crafting. In the last two weeks of Glitz projects I've managed to branch out and get my fingers stained with all kinds of goodies. After some experimenting with some various media for our challenge, I settled on playing with paint daubers for my project. I used a yellow Ranger Paint Dabber to brighten up the doilies and to daub a small section of the roller doodle. The paint only took a few minutes to dry and added to the cheery color of the "Wild & Free" elements.
