a day off

Emma was back to feeling herself today, after a couple of days down with a stomach bug. She cleaned up and got dressed and enjoyed a day off with the family. Normally she's the first one up in our house (aside from Stan who is out the door before dawn most days), and loves making a full breakfast for everyone. Today, for President's Day, she had daddy home as her breakfast-making partner in crime. The rest of the day was spent gardening, reading, relaxing and playing. (A vast improvement from the past couple of days stuck in bed feeling crummy.)

Stan's next two batches of beer were ready to transfer and bottle. I think they're both IPAs. I'm not much of a beer drinker, but the one of the left smelled smoother than the one on the right. There's my expert opinion on the matter.

Have you ever stood on your counter with your camera pressed to the ceiling to get a photo of your husband transferring his batch of beer? I have.
