Today I lost a dear friend to lung cancer. She lived each day to the fullest, loved everyone she encountered and inspired all she knew to Dream Big. Thank you for the love and rich friendship you have added to my life, Doreen. I thank God that He allowed me to be graced with a friend like you.

Oh Noel, I am so so sorry!!!! I know no words will help ease your pain, but I do understand... we lost my FIL August 19th to lung cancer.
So sorry, Noel.
I hope these words give you comfort. I am so sorry for your tremendous loss...
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, "There, she is gone."
"Gone where?"
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side, and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says, "There, she is gone!" there are other eyes watching her coming, and there are other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!" Amen

I'm sorry Noel. Saying a prayer for your family and hers. These are gorgeous pictures.

I remember Doreen. I remember the pictures you took and how her smile made you forget just how savage cancer really is. Yes, her spirit was the star and cancer was but an after thought.
May we always remember them that way.
Well, fudge. I remember your great post before about Doreen when you took her photos. I'm sorry to hear she's gone.
I just got word this week that my best friend's hubby has bone cancer-- likely the worst kind.
Cancer sucks.
Thanks for honoring your friend here!
I remember the beautiful pictures of Doreen that you share a while back. I lost my own Dad to lung cancer so I know first hand how it can ravage the body. When he passed, my initial reaction was relief that he was finally out of pain but that feeling doesn't make up for the hole that was left in my heart. May God bless her family and friends during this time and bring you all comfort.
It's never easy to have a friend or loved one leave us. May your wonderful memories guide you through this difficult time.

sorry for the loss of your friend. She looks so beautiful in your pictures - her eyes sparkle. My sibling has survived Stage IV lung cancer now for one year. It is one of the worst cancers for survival but one of the least funded. Something needs to change. There are an increasing number of people being diagnosed and no, you don't need to be a smoker to get it. I HATE LUNG CANCER!
God Bless--she was gorgeous...and I'm sure inside she was just as beautiful.
I'm really sorry. Cancer sucks.
I remember when you originally posted these pictures. Beautiful! I am so sorry for you loss. God Bless
Sorry for your loss Noel.
I am so sorry to read about this! I have enjoyed your photos of your dear friend and think of her often. May her spirit and memory live on! Romans 8:28 Hugs!
