my how the years fly by + a giveaway!

One Year Ago Today

i'm sitting here with that sunrise, sunset song from fiddler on the roof rolling through my mind. "wasn't it yesterday when they were small?... sunrise, sunset. quickly fly the years. one season following another, laden with happiness and tears." i know people say it all the time... but MAN! it really does fly by. when i was editing yesterday's pictures i had a little epiphany (i know i'm a little slow, but here it is anyway), i can look back at exactly what happened one year ago today. how cool is that?! heading into my second year of 365, i'm sure this will be a fun little something to do from time to time. it's like googling the date in your own life. :)

now for the fun giveaway part! ella publishing has {surprise!} another fabulous book out in collaboration with the amazing folks at write.click.scrap. with 30 idea-packed pages, a year in review gives you method to scrap an entire year's worth of memories in 24 layouts. who couldn't use a few ideas on catching up on some of our backlogged pictures?! so here goes...
want to win a copy of a year in review?
comment on this post what types of scrappy eBook titles you're dying to see available. i'll draw a winner on monday! good luck!

This is a hard one for me because I am an idea book junkie....lol. I think I would like to see something about scrapping your dog's life.

I'd like a book with basic photo correction tips - having them all in one place would be so helpful.

I would love a book on basic techniques and products -- like, what are the various types of inks good for, how to use embossing powder without making a gigantic mess, etc., how to recover from "mistakes" without having to start again

I'd love a book on the "simple" philosophy. A book that gives those of us that enjoyed Simple Scrapbooks a taste of that again.

There are several I would like to see. One area of frustration I have as a beginner of digi scrap is how to load, use and create brushes for pse. "Brushes for Dummies" LOL

Fabulous sounding book!!!

I'd love to see something for milestones - kids growing up. The first tooth, first step, etc. I have all these firsts and don't know where to start layout-wise.

Thanks for the great giveaway!!!

I would love one that would motivate me to scrapbook.

I'm with Latrice....a STEP-by-STEP on how to start PSE and hold my hand through the process! May be some out there already but I'm just a chicken!!!

Part of me aggrees with Liz! LOL But I do like the Milestones idea also. The biggest problem I have - taken 20 years of photos and scraping them. So I would have to say that's what I would like so see. A book with ideas on how to "muddle" through the mass of photos and get it done!

30 minute layouts (like Rachel Ray's 30 minute meals). I take FOREVER to do one LO, so it would be nice to have something at my hands thatis quicker with great ideas. And a photoediting step-by-step process:)

I would love to win this! I am SO far behind. I would love to see a photography book. I read a comment and it said something about learning techniques applying them to the photos you take. I'd love something like that. Thanks for the giveaway!

I really enjoy watching scrappers design & learning about design process. Maybe a tip book giving some hints about how to get the published designer kind of look on a layout. I'd surely buy that one.

Quick & Easy type sketches. Maybe a Pets book too.

I like idea books that have very specific directions-like measurements and specific products/punches/colors that were used. I also love step-by-step directions.

I would love a book about color... you know, what colors are in right now. I am in a little color rut. I want bright and beautiful! ;)

I always love tips on using up your stash - so Attack the Stack or something like that would make a cute title.

I would love to see one on easy, simple layouts. I don't really have tons of time (or money) on a layout. I would also love to one that has to do with making cards. Thanks for the chance!

I haven't seen a good travel idea book in a while. I'd like it to cover comprehensive & creative ways to use memorabilia on pages as well to organize it. Also, it would be great if it would focus on vacation travel as well as more long term travel as well (i.e., backpacking, etc.) including creative ideas on documenting journeys. Thanks for the chance to win!
