100,000 hit giveaway!

100,000 hit GIVEAWAY!

so i mentioned yesterday that i noticed the sitemeter was running super close to 100,000 blog hits. holy moly! so i figured it was time to giveaway some fun stuff to some of the people that made hitting a good thing.

so here it is... i seem to collect piles all over the place. (i've mentioned before that i'm basically a slob. lol) i don't like things dirty, but i don't mind clutter. and actually i usually work best in a cluttery mess. so tell me one of your quirky traits or silly things you collect. (i collect piles, gymboree hair pretties, and scrapbook supplies...) let me know, and i'll be picking a winner on monday. (unless we're still camping... then it'll be tuesday.)

and thanks for checking out my random silliness from day to day. :)

I collect piles too, but I don't like clutter - so that makes for an interesting mix in my mind!

I'm a huge collector of scrapbook supplies... More of a hoarder I would say... I think I buy more than I scrap...

I have one spot in my kitchen that collects so much clutter...I can not keep it clean and it is mostly me putting stuff there!

I collect blue carnival glass, scrapbook goodies, Mary Engelbreit anything, and I got a good start on some Gymboree hair pretties too! We thought we had lost one on one of them big inflatable party things the other day...I was prepared to go in after it! LOL!

Happy 100,000th!

I collect kitchen gadgets and scrappy goodies.

I love your site and although I don't comment often I do visit often. Your photoshop tips I consider a must read.

LOVE your LO! I'm so inspired by it and your honesty. I'm a messy person. I don't like dirt either, but I don't mind the clutter like other ppl. I also loved your clothes basket pic that I saw a while back. I still chuckle at it. I need to take a pic of my 3 huge clothes baskets, LOL!

I have piles everywhere. I collect scrapbook stuff the most, next probably would be books (and I've only read about 20% of them), coupons that need to be clipped, pampers and coke points that need to be entered in, and crocs/flip flops. I could probably add to the list a lot more, but those stick out in my mind the most. I need to scrap them.

My quirkyness would match well w/ you (wanna come live with me?). I hate clutter, but don't mind uncleanliness. So, my closets and drawers are organzied, but you have to move an inch of dust to get to it!

I am a major stacker. I stack all kinds of stuff. Bills, paper, just about anything. Drives my husband CRAZY!! I also stockpile scrapbook supplies and hate to use them. I am changing the habits. I need to use what I have and enjoy it since I have already spent the money on it. Congrats on the 100,000 hits. I love your blog.

Noel-love your blog! Well, I collect watermelon stuff, it started as just my kitchen decor but has started to reach other parts of my house. I just think it's so bright & cheerful. But, I'm not sloppy with the watermelon stuff-it all has it's place. Paper junk as I call it on the other hand is my "hot spot". Mail, coupons, magazines then all that daily junk that gets picked up off the floor a thousand times like hair bow's, crayons, coloring books piles up all over my counter and kitchen table and then I finally grab it all before I know someone is coming over and throw it in a bin in my office that is to be sorted through that evening or the next day.........WELL, I currently have a few bins going and they are starting to overflow. I really need to get to them.

Having a hard time thinking of things I collect; I hate clutter- have been termed a minimalist on occasion. I like neat, orderly things. My children tend to have a different agenda though. The only thing that comes to mind is digital scrapbook supplies and pictures! (I take way too many!!)

Have loved your blog. You have a creative gift and I've loved all the great ideas. Congrats on your success.

I want to have things organized, preferably by color: my quilting fabric is folded *just so* to sit on end in plastic sweater boxes. I have a box for each color and 2 each for green and blue. Yeah, and scrap paper the same thing (without the folding). Closet, ditto.

I look at your blog daily so, I help, tee hee.

Besides scrap stuff, I collect Tupperware. I know, that's not TOO unusual but, I'm ANAL about my Tupperware. I have all different colors and hubby will put a green lid on a purple base and I flip out.. seriously! He is lazy and doesn't want to spend the time looking through the drawer for the matching lid. Look, I get that it's a pain and it'll take an extra two mins of his life but, it's my one pet peeve so come on, be a dear and make them match for me, right? LOL

Count me in as another "piler". My downfalls, ahem,I mean collections are the usual, mail, recipes, books, magazines, scrappin' supplies, etc. I also have 3 cabinets full of quilt fabric, although I haven't made any quilts or bought any fabric since 2001.If I ever get back in the mood, it's there! LOL! My newest collection is the fault of one of my dgs. He started me on a collection of hedgehogs. Congrats on your 100,000 hits!~Bev~

I'm the same way, dont like dirty but work with clutter. My non-scrappy collections consist of Postcards, aprons, and Valentine's decor. My scrappy collections, (well what scrapbooker doesnt collect everything scrappy?), I do collect letter sticker: Thickers and such, and cute little see-thru containers.

Marla said...

love your blog I stop by often to see your pic of the day. LOL, I think collecting scrapbook stuff is part of scrapbooking, I am guilty too. lately my collections have been the reusable shopping bags, I love taking mine with me to the commissary, my favorite is my Target bag. I also am guilty of collecting cookbooks but I don't like cooking, maybe it is the pictures that get me. hehe

Meggan said...

Congrats Noel on the hits! I enjoy your blog! :-)

I tend to collect lots of things-- scrapbook stuff is a given. But, I also collect, magazines, chapstick (crazy I know! never have too many of those things), candles, SHOES!

Can I say I collect pictures? I "borrow" pictures from my mom and mother-in-law. I have pictures all over from all generations!
If I can't claim pictures I would have to say I collect baby shoes! My two girls have about 6 new pairs for this summer!!!

SabrinaRopp said...

I'm not the neatest person, and I don't vacuum all that often, but I can't stand when people where shoes in the house... Maybe it comes from growing up in the country where your shoes were bound to have manure on them, but whatever the reason, shoes have to come off at the door around here! :-) I'll bet it's fun reading all these quirky posts!

Congratulations on your 100000 hits. Love your blog!

I used to collect Boyd's bears until the scrapping bug hit me! Now it is my favorite thing to shop for supplies. There's nothing like going to Archiver's and looking at all the pretty paper and embellies.

Debbie in STL said...

I used to be a complete neat freak...then I had kids! Now I too collect clutter, usually in the form of mail, daily sheets from school and artwork. Of course I also collect scrap supplies...can't go in a store and not buy! When I was a kid, I tried collecting many things, rocks, stamps, old money...still have those things but don't add to them anymore.

Love your blog...congrats on having 100,000 hits!

Congrats! I collect scrapbook supplies ... especially primas in the bottle ... can't get enough of them. I also collect Boyd's Bears and Longaberger Baskets! I, too, and a bit of a slob ... only I can't work in it so the first thing I have to do before I sit down to work on a layout is try to make a nice clean space to work in. Not gettin to much done lately....

I don't like dirty either, but also seem to have too much clutter. I colect antique cameras, norman rockwell figurines, boyds bears, old sheet music...just about everything it seems. I used to collect scrapbooks tuff and still buy it, but lately I've found myself using a lot of what I have on hand before buying new.
Congrats on your posting!

I collect my children's treasures. Little things they draw or make or find! I do toss some - but so many are just too sweet and precious!

Brooke said...

Congrats Noel on your 100K hits. Love your blog. Aside from the obvious scrapbook supplies. I collect teacups and saucers and teapots on purpose. I have my own set of piles, Clutter drives me nuts, but I make it anyway. My mom always said I was a pile maker. I would line my walls in my room growing up with piles. I have a daughter now who is showing those same symptoms LOL. we have piles of movies, piles of papers, piles of books, piles of laundry, piles of toys, piles of cds. I have piles of stamps, piles of paper, piles of scraps. So though I have grown up, I am still a pile maker, Piles make me feel like i have a little bit of control of the clutter, because clearly it is less cluttered if it is in a pile...at least that is my rationale.

You name it, I collect it. I have even gone to the shooting range with my husband to collect brass! Apparently I 'collect' scrapping supplies too. Along with anything I can use to 'organize' my collection. A weird quirk I have is that I feel compelled to leave those little plastic protective covers on new things. Like the outside of my laptop (3 years, it's still on there!). Just can't bring myself to pull them off.

Susanne said...

I collect scrapbooking supplies, dishes (oh how i love dishes!), books and magazines! love your photography. i have a question for you...how do you get your girls to wear all the cute things they do and do they willingly allow you to fix their hair in all those cute styles? do they ever argue with you about not wanting to wear something? (i have a 9 year old, if you couldn't guess!)

I somehow manage to collect old magazines...they don't start out as old, but for some reason I won't throw them away and then I have stacks and stacks of these things!!!! It's bad. I need to get over it! LOL!

Tina said...

Hey Noel,
Congrats on the 100,000 number. That is great. I am like you, don't like the dirt, but am very bad with the clutter. I have so much paper, my husband thinks I can open a store with just that. I am always afraid if I don't get the paper when I see it, I will never find it again. Also, my daughter is only 3, but you should see how many pretties that she owns. Another thing I totally love is ribbon. I have a couple bins of items that need to be altered. When I don't throw containers from holidays or special occasions after they are empty, my husband just roles his eyes at me......

Congratulations,
Tina

Hmmm, my collections seem to tie in with what i'm into. SO for example, i'm a teacher so i've collected apples (slowing that one down though), definitely HOARD scrap supplies, and my most recent love collection is SOCK MONKEYS! My classroom theme is MRS. MOORE'S MONKEYS and the rest is history. I've purchased several sock monkeys this year alone, along with little rugs and pillows, bulletin board trim and cutouts, stickers . . . you name it, i probably have a monkey for it. If not, i'll try finding one!

I enjoy reading your blog everyday. I really enjoy seeing your finished layouts and how you lovingly talk about your family. Your beautiful pictures make me want to move to Washington but then I remember how much I love tropical weather. :)

I collect shotglasses from around the world/country. The shot glass that traveled the farthest distance to live with me is from Tokyo, the smallest is from Germany and my favorite is a toss up between one from Maui (b/c I love Maui so much and wish I could live there) and one from Hollywood (it's just cool).

I also collect scrapbook supplies. I have spent the last week going through all my supplies and creating care packages for friends who scrapbook, one of my few blog readers and a little girl I know who is just starting to scrapbook. It's stuff I don't ever think I'll use so someone might as well make good use of it.

Thanks for the give away. I love them!!

I have piles galore here - all over the house, but I do know what is in each pile for the most part(LOL). I seem to be a magnet for piles of paper (school work, mail, etc) that keeps multiplying. I also collect magazines..food, craft, decorating you name it, Polish Pottery (but those have homes) and oh yes...scrapbook supplies galore.

I am trying to scrap more everyday things instead of events and love your Piles layout...maybe I could go use some of my scrappy collection and get to work myself.

Gave everything up for Scrapbooking and Photography. We have enough "pilots" at my house we should have a Union and be checked out by the FAA. The biggest pile usually is in the kitchen... mail and stuff. When company comes over - I grab the pile and stick it in the shoe closet on one of the shelves... I now have one entire shelf filled. I don't know you personally, but I think you are just adorable. I love your "style" on the blog and scrapbooking. I always tell my husband that if we lived near you, you would be my friend :) I love that you love your husband and girls to no end (judging by your posts). I admire that so much! Hey Noel, wow, 100,000???? That's amazing!!! You are definetly doing something amazing!

I collect refrigerator magnets and shot glasses (although now that I have a child and I don't drink anymore I call them toothpick holders haha) from places I've been throughout the USA and the world. Friends also send them to me when they travel. I have some pretty kooky ones.

I also collect glass Pyrex dishes, the stuff from the 50's. My kitchen is 50's decor and man, that stuff works great to bake with!

Finally, I collect cookie cutters. I have everything from a camel with one hump to a santa claus and many in between. It's fun plus we can use them for all sorts of fun projects. Hallie, my daughter loves them.

As for the clutter, I hear ya! I'm starting to think I need a bigger house! I think as long as it's stacked neatly it's just great. A friend of mine told me bins work great, I guess I'll have to try that.

Congratulations again!

I'm relieved to find so many other clutter bugs out there. I collect scrap supplies, magazines, my kids' artwork, tons of little girl clothes and shot glasses from various places I visit!

I enjoy your blog thoroughly and am not surprised to see you hit the 100k mark!

I'm a "messie", too, but I hate it. I long to be a "cleanie".

So I collect "to do lists". I have a hundred lists lost in stacks of papers, incomplete, of course. Most of them are lists of things to do to get myself more organized. I'll include things I've already completed on my list so that I can cross them off the list!

I collect scrap magazines, lately! I can't seem to throw one out & I can't file them, because every time I open one, I am thoroughly engrossed, even if I read it already!

I collect... Let see here... Oh yes, now I've got it. I collect art, mainly ceramics. When I travel I don't by the normal stuff, no sir I save it all up an by a nice piece of art work made by a local artist. Oh yes, my parents travel a lot, so any goodie I may get from their travels is usually artsy!
I collect fabric, it's like art to me! Usually I will buy a yard maybe a little more I just love it!
As for my scrap stuff... I collect paper! It's the same thing as fabric, some of it is like art! Walmart used to carry these really nice black 12X15ish albums, I have like 10 of them. My papers are in page protectors, some by color some by brand/designer!
That is the ONLY neat part of my craft room... For I too am a total slob...

Right now my main collection consists of school papers my kids bring home! Yesterday alone I threw a bunch of stuff into boxes to sort later...what to keep? what to toss in the darkness of night? (because of course someone will find it and say "why is this in the trash?" lol!

I collect magazine articles, recipes & coupons. Then I never use them. I tear them out of magazines thinking surely I'll need them...then I'll find a pile & just recycle it with out even looking at it. Otherwise, the piles just keep growing, the mess just gets bigger.

Congratulations!

I collect books and magazines. I LOVE reading and the books - I can't get rid of them. I'm scared I'll want to reread them at some point. The magazines? Oh boy - I have every kind you can think of - scrapping, cooking, womens, childrens, home stuff, gardening - and so on and so on. I have them in piles everywhere - drives my DH nuts!

Let's see...I collect crafting supplies, mostly stamps now a days. I love creating standing up, and I like to clean up after every project. Those are my quirks!

I'm a huge pile collector, too. I would say that and scrap supplies top my list of collections! I should probably do a page like you. Oh, and my husband would say I collect tote bags, too ... yeah, he's probably right!

In addition to all things scrappy, I collect recipes, snowmen and Christmas ornaments. And, I guess you could say that I also have a collection of wonderful blogs -- yours included -- that I enjoy visiting each day. Congrats on your hit count!!!

I create in chaos all the time, seems the only way, if everything is organized, it's basically hidden, right. I collect ribbon, anything off a package, card, or store bag. There's lots being given away out there!

I collect scrapbook supplies, esp. paper and ribbon, notebooks/journals; I can't seem to pass up cute ones.

I must say that I definitely collect sb paper! I love love love all the pretty designs and prints... then I think it's too pretty to use my one and only sheet of it! How crazy is that?

I love looking through your blog! It fun to see the girls and their antics... I have an 3rd grade daughter and a 1st grade son, so their are a lot of similarities!

Keep posting... we'd all miss you way too much!

I collect scrapbook supplies and plastic containers! My DH is worried about the plastic container situation, but I'm always sure it will be just right for something.
