macguyver and the hair

macguyver
and the hair

after the girls' shower this morning we were doing the usual brushing & drying... when i asked them if they'd like a haircut. they usually only have one or two haircuts a year. so today must have been a biannual kind of day because they both said yes right away. torrey really wanted hers shorter and more "grown up" looking. we chopped around 5 inches off of each of them. now i'm thinking we could have waited and done locks of love, darn it. next time...

so here they are with their new do's - couple of super sweet little angel babies. but then i may be just slightly bias when it comes to these two. :)

oh! i did a new photoshop tutorial today with this pic of torrey. it's all about brightening eyes in photoshop elements. check it out here. if you've ever wondered how to get those eyes sparkly in pics through post processing... this will help. it'll work best on higher resolution shots.

the link i posted yesterday to mcp's eye doctor action, is great for similar results with all of the layers created for you. (it's listed under the retouching category). it's a great action!

now for macguyver's turn in the spotlight! we've had a big pile of gravel on the side of our driveway leftover from when our friend plowed all of the snow off for us several weeks ago. well, stan decided it was time to get the driveway back in curb-appealing order today. well, being that he's still injured from the wreck, he figured out a way to get all of that gravel, and grate the driveway at the same time using only stuff we had laying in the garage! it's amazing what you can do with a rake, a wire shelf, a car jack and a couple of rocks... :)

i was so impressed with his ingenuity!

That is so funny! He definitely improvised and got the job done!

LOL... I love all the *stuff* your husband used to create a drag for the gravel... what a clever guy!

And as always, your girls are darling.

Thank you for the new tut, I can hardly wait to check it out.
