a chicken, a sunrise, a rainbow and two cowgirls

a chicken, a sunrise
a rainbow & two cowgirls

so awhile back my thieving mother stole my sweet little yard art snail from my yard. she was joking of course, as she had told me many times that it would be happier at her house. well, it took me a bit to notice it was MIA... until i spotted it on her back porch one morning. well, i kept my mouth shut, so as to foster my revenge! a couple of weeks ago, at midnight, my accomplice husband snuck over to my mom & dad's house and snatched her big recycled tin chicken. which he then cleverly perched at the top of our highest hill. it could be seen from the road and every window of our house. stan said he felt pretty weird sneaking across our yard at midnight with a giant stolen metal chicken. :)

now, my mom (i love you, mommy) has a scary keen eye for things that are out of place. (think: the kathy bates in misery). and yet, two weeks went by before she noticed something wasn't right. she was over yesterday and finally noticed the chicken. it was priceless. i'd been getting calls from my dad and my sister almost everyday asking if she'd noticed yet. got-cha back mom! now the only trouble is keeping an eye out for what will go missing from my house next... (better keep an eye on the hot tub!)

while it was pouring rain a couple of days ago... during dinner we enjoyed watching this cool double rainbow. i was wishing i had a wider angle lens to get the whole thing.

today was western dress up day at the girls' school... so my little cowgirls set off to school looking smashing in their pink cowgirl sheriff garb.

one more pic from this morning... you can't help but enjoy getting up in the morning to this. :)

The pictures are too lovely. The rooster/chicken is absolutely adorable, and your girls make great cowgirls. Isn't the inland North West beautiful! It's where I am from too.
take care.

My mom and her sister are always taking pictures off each others walls. Now instead of taking something from anothers house they are leaving things at each others houses.

and what a view, holy cow! My mom collect anything rooster because her last name ( my maiden name) meant rooster in Italian. Long story short, she has a rooster piece of yard art just like this...hmmmm... i wonder if she would even notice??
