tulip pictures

it's the start of tulip season & the tulip festival here in wa. so for thursday date day, we headed to skagit valley. (i had planned on heading to a big sale at a super cool stamp store, but ::shock:: decided maybe i have enough stuff... for today at least!)

emma found this sad little broken-off tulip on the ground... it is now "planted" in my front yard

welcome to washington
clouds & puddles & tulips... oh my!

emma & i at roozengaarde
a very cool tulip garden where they sell all of the different types of bulbs

emma & great grandma

emma totally enamored with the seeds on the tree
and completely ignoring the amazing flowers! i love it!

getting down & dirty with the tulips

i can't believe this is the last year we're going to have these
midweek date days. ::sigh::

Hi Noel,
Those are some great pictures. I almost headed up there with my little ones, too, but it was sprinkling enough down here that I was afraid it would turn out to be more up there by the time I got there. Hopefully, I will get there next week, unless tomorrow is decent. I love how colorful the pictures I get up there are.
:-)

Take care,
Tina

These are some glorious and beautiful pictures of a wonderful time shared. By far though what touched my heart was the last shot of their hands. It's amazing!

I've never seen so many tulips before!

Noel-

I have been a stalker of your site for a few weeks now.:) Found you thru CK. I love your site, your pages and pictures! Your pictures are so beautiful and creative. Do you have any pointers for someone trying to improve their photography? Did you take a class or read any good books? Would you mind sharing what settings some of your pictures were taken at? Any advice you could give would be great! Thanks for sharing with us! Love your stuff!

The hands are priceless!! I cannot tell you how much I wish I had pictures of my grandmas hands. You are pretty good with that camera Noel!! I have a girl named Emma too. She will be going to Kindergarten in the fall. I know what you mean about having that time together!

I have to say I had to cry just a little at the hands photo. My mom died in December and my daughter just had a darling little girl (GD #2, yeah!)last week. My mom would have so gotten a tattoo (temp, of course) with her grands or greatgrands. Thanks for sharing your life.
