thursday - date day

almost every thursday emma and i have a date day while torrey is at school. this week we went to the daffodil field. holy amazing blocks of color. these are always the kick off to spring. they come just before all of the tulip fields come into bloom, and are such a ray of sunshine on a gloomy day.
then went to the very cool la conner, wa . i love that cool bridge! we walked bunches of cool shops and did a little photo document of our day...

i thought these buttons were so cute & clever... i picked up a bunch for giggles and scrapbook embellishments at the museum of northwest art.

then we stopped by one of my favorite shops/galleries called two moons. the lady working was so cool. she let emma play with these beautiful umbrellas. she opened every single one in the store... that is a LOT of years of bad luck! lol! she also opened several cases of jewelry so emma could try stuff on... to which emma replied, "this is the best day of my whole life ever!"

and then off to lunch at the la conner brewery... where we colored, had brewery root beer & ate artichoke and smoked cheddar dip.
next it was off to the world famous nasty jacks antique store. where we browsed through some of the cool schtuff.

our last stop was by childhood bliss to pick up a couple of goodies for some friends... and to do a little playing. she has the coolest kid stuff ever. if they had diaper bags like these when my girls were little... and the little gift notes were just too darn cute!

so that was our day... i hope yours was as fabulous!

What a fun day! I love that shot of Emma coloring. The look on her face is priceless. Also lov ethat bookworm button! That use to be my CB handle when DH and I drove truck over the road. Seeing that made me think of good times. Just me and the hubs 24/7 for 3 years and I only left him at a truck stop once! I think that's pretty good!?!

Have a wonderful Easter!

Hey Noel, Thought I'd say "hi" and "delurk". I've been checking out your blog since I found a link on CK but more recently have "met" your mom over at jessicasprague.com. I'm a neighbor of yours to the north (near Bellingham) and that first photo of your daughter is AMAZINGLY AWESOME! Been there many times and after seeing that know I've got to head there again soon!

Those daffodils are amazing...we're in OH and I thought it would be chillier up there, so why are they blooming already? No bulbs have blossomed around here (outside at least).

Wish I could come with you...those letters and you holding your name is a FAB photo. All those cute lil buttons are so colorful and fun! Oh, and that umbrella is shaped so elegantly. THIS was the BEST blog post!!!

Wow - you two had a seriously fun day out!! Those daffodil fields are just gorgeous. We have a few daffodils around the house, but obviously nothing compared to that field!

Emma looks like she had a really great time. That's so cool that you get to spend one-on-one time with the girls.

I hope you're having a fabulous weekend!!
