for every action...

for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. but with photoshop actions there may not be an opposite reaction, more like an adjustment. ok you can slap me now, and tell me to quit with the silly physics puns! lol!

but really, photoshop actions are so fun! these actions (and a few more) were my christmas present from my mom. i got it early... they were on sale... if you know my mom, you'll see the humor. (i love you mom... and i'm seriously grateful... please don't take my present away for being sassy!) these actions were purchased from ezactions.com. i found a picture today that worked with a bunch of the different actions. you need to play around with them a bit to see what kind of actions work best with different types of photos.

photoshop actions can save time and increase productivity by automating repetitive tasks. they can also be used for reproducing techniques and creating special effects. the actions at ezactions can be used with photoshop elements. (some actions you can download will only work with the full versions of photoshop.) almost all of these pictures were done with the auto settings that came up in the windows that walk you through each action.

how you use them
(or more specifically, how
mine work!):
you open up a picture in pse (i use pse 5). assuming your actions are already loaded, you will open up the artwork & effects pallet then click on photo effects in the drop down box. double click on the action you'd like to use. my actions automatically copy your picture (so you never accidentally lose the original! very handy!) the actions will pop up windows that walk you through the process, creating new layers as needed for you! you can work with different adjustments to suit your picture. click save, and you're done!

Very cool, Noel!! I think my favorite is the eza porcelain. It's a very elegant action for your picture. However, I could use some of that sun-kissed action. If only life came with fun little buttons like these. Then you could choose which ever one you needed in a flash!

Surprise Noel, I'm actually posting on your blog. LOL Thanks, I enjoyed seeing the different ways you can change a photo color just with a click of a button. I love the color of pb warmup. Thanks.

Those actions look so cool! I love all the variety you have to change one picture! Thanks for the explanation...I"m new to the digi world and I would have thought I would be intimidated by something like this...you explain it to be so simple though! I love the picture that you chose btw...it's so cute!
