New Year's Dreams - Punky Sprouts Blog Hop & Giveaway

Welcome to my stop on the Punky Sprouts New Year's Blog Hop. For my project I dug into my stack of Instagram prints to make a mini album of some of my New Year's dreams with a few snapshots from this past year. 2012 was such a rough year, I'm still struggling to get back into some sort of new normal, not to mention diving back into scrapbooking. With a new year on the horizon it's time to pull back the curtains a little and let the sunshine in, even if it's just a little at a time.

Now onto to Blog Hop info: Hop through each of the Punky Sprouts designer blogs leaving comments as you go. If you're already underway, you should have arrived from Sooner Rather than Later, after you leave a comment here, you'll head over to Pattie Cakes for your next stop. (If you've just started the hop here, you can head over to the Punky Sprouts blog for the full blog list and details.)

taking a break

taking a break

now i am not one who loves cleaning. i am not even one who likes cleaning. and forcing myself to clean and organize usually comes only when there is really no other option... well, the end of the line came today. my scrap room has needed to be cleaned for weeks... i have bags of things that aren't put away, piles on my desk of schtuff i've pulled out for projects and haven't yet resorted. piles, piles, piles... well, the power kicked off suddenly this afternoon & with no computer to distract me, i started cleaning. now, while i'm not done, i have made some progress. but i can only force myself to clean for so long. so i took a break to do a little something with some of the supplies i had unearthed. :) forgive the pictures... i am lacking natural light at 1am... ::wink:: **edited to add: i got a chance to take pictures with some natural light, so now i've got the better set up.**

ACCOMPLISHMENT!
(finish wha-cha start)

this layout, well more like this stack of papers & pics have been sitting on my desk for 2 years. yah, that's right, 2 years! (you can even see how the paper has faded in the corners. i started it... picked out a quote i wanted to use, picked the cardstock, messed around with layout a little bit, and NOTHING! just never found the groove, so it got stacked in my "lost my mojo" pile. so my challenge to myself today (spurred by cindy (crs16) on ckmb) was to finish a layout that was in my unfinished stack. woohoo! i finished one! below is the finished result. the picture isn't the best, but it'll have to do! i used some of the stuff from my march scarlet lime kit. (i heart scarlet lime!!!)

supplies: cardstock: bazzill basics; patterned paper & buttons: making memories; letter stickers (green): basic grey; chipboard letters: american crafts; rub on letters: american crafts; bird rub ons: hambly; felt flourishes: fancy pants; other: embroidery floss
